New safety boat with support from the Weir Chairtable Trust

PSBSC have recently received grant funding to enable them to buy a new safety boat to support the club’s busy calendar of RYA training and racing activities. The club’s own fund-raising efforts were boosted by an award of £11,280 from The Weir Charitable Trust which supports Scottish-based community groups and small charities in areas such as health, sport, culture recreation and animal welfare.

The new 5m boat is fitted with a 40 Hp engine. The strong hull is made from Rotational Moulded Polyethylene meaning it can safety lie alongside the pontoon and compliment the club’s existing rigid inflatable boat and enable greater provision of safety cover. After a naming competition run during the annual regatta, the new boats name will be "Red Crusader".
