New boat naming competition - Winner Announced!

Kally Leipers entry has been selected as the winner of the Boat Naming Competition.  This was held to name the four new Fevas and the Vision that the sailing club recently purchased with the help of National Lottery Awards for All funding.

The names, inspired by constellations, are:

Aquila  (meaning “eagle” for the Vision)

Dorado  (meaning “dolphin fish”, Feva)

Pavo  (meaning “peacock”, Feva)

Phoenix  (meaning “phoenix”, Feva)

Pegasus  (meaning “winged horse”, Feva)

An official naming ceremony will be held at the PSBSC Open Day in June, however sailors will be able to enjoy sailing the new boats as soon as the season starts. Funds raised by the competition, combined with money raised at the St Andrews Day dinner raffle, will go towards upgrading the existing fleet of Toppers, specifically upgrading the rigging by converting them to centre-mainsheet.

Kally looks forward to enjoying her prize, a complimentary meal at the Plockton Inn, and we thank all those who participated and helped out with the competition.
