Bart's Bash - 3pm Sunday 21st September 2014

PSBSC has registered to take part in Barts Bash, the largest sailing event in the world www.bartsbash.co.uk (this is open to all boats – juniors Stage 3+ - but will also serve as the 4th St Kilda race for those centreboard dinghies participating in that series). PSBSC sailors will be racing against 570 clubs in 50 different countries. Our club is registered on Barts Bash site here http://www.bartsbash.co.uk/club/plockton-small-boat-sailing-club  and you can now sign up to race on the day. If you do race on the day, you will be racing against Ben Ainslie in a Finn, Iain Percy in a Star, Paul Goodison in a Moth, Jimmy Spithill in a Melges E-Scow and Loick Peyron in his Trimaran.

By entering the race now, we will get an idea as to the number of people who intend to race on the day and it will also give us a good representation on the website. The event is a fundraiser for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, www.andrewsimpsonsailing.org.uk and they are asking for a £5 donation from each person over the age of 14 who intends to sail. Once you have signed up, you can create a just giving page which can then be used to spread the word and get people to sponsor you. The team at Barts Bash have also created a Sponsorship form, which can be downloaded from the website, as can posters and banners if you want to share the event. It would be great if as a club, we could rally round and support this great cause and enable us all to race against a “whos who of sailing superstars”.
