Training and Courses

PSBSC is an RYA affiliated training centre with three senior instructors and a growing number of instructors that provide training for both juniors and adult club members, up to RYA Stage 4 for juniors and Level 3 for adults, throughout the sailing season (May to September).  Most training is undertaken using Toppers and RS Fevas or RS Vision.

Pre-requisites:

For Junior Stage 1 the minimum age is 9 years old. Juniors should already be confident swimmers in sea water and able to swim 50m. For all other Junior stages, the pre-requisite is to have successfully completed the previous stage. For Day Sailing Juniors should have already successfully completed Stage 4.

For adults, no pre-requisites for adult level 1. For adult level 2, the pre-requisite is typically completion of Level 1, however an equivalent level of sailing experience may also be sufficient (if in doubt discuss with an instructor). For adult Day sailing the pre-requisite is completion of Stage 2.
